Life Events and Your Benefits

Life happens, and when it does, your benefits may need to change. A life event is a major change in your personal situation, like getting married, having a baby, adopting a child, losing other coverage, or a change in employment status. These events are important because they give you a limited window, usually 30 days, to update your benefit elections outside of the annual Open Enrollment period. Reporting life events promptly helps make sure you and your family have the coverage you need, right when you need it.
